PPL Global University Park Power Plant Ready for Commercial Operation

Groundbreaking of the power plant took place August 2001 and commercial operation is scheduled for July 2002. The plant is located on Dralle Road, east of Interstate 57, in University Park and will consist of twelve GE LM6000 gas turbines that will operate during periods of intermediate and high demand.
