Sharon Ethanol Gets Permit for Wisconsin Ethanol Plant
The company has secured Delta-T Corporation (Williamsburg, Virginia) as its design-build contractor and ethanol process technology provider
Released Monday, June 25, 2007
Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas). Privately held Sharon Ethanol LLC (Whitewater, Wisconsin), a division of Global Renewable Energy LLC (Sebastian, Florida), has received its air and construction permits from the state of Wisconsin to proceed with construction on a new fuel ethanol plant that will be located in Sharon, Wisconsin. Once the financing and equity drive for the estimated $195 million project is secured, the company anticipates starting construction in September or October of this year.
The company has secured Delta-T Corporation (Williamsburg, Virginia) as its design-build contractor and ethanol process technology provider. Plans call for the creation of a 108 million gallon per year fuel ethanol plant that will process some 41 million bushels of corn per year to produce the fuel and also generate 365,000 tons per year of distillers dried grains, a by-product of ethanol production. Construction is expected to take 16 to 18 months to complete and the plant could be operational by the first quarter of 2009.
Ethanol production has been quietly growing in Wisconsin and the state currently has six operating fuel ethanol plants with the capacity of producing over 278 million gallons of ethanol annually. Two plants are presently under construction and an additional nine plants are in the pre-construction phase.
Once the additional planned and under construction plants go on-line, Wisconsin will have an annual ethanol production capacity of over 890 million gallons. Over $1 billion in capital will be spent to build-out Wisconsins ethanol industry.
