Smart Fuels Florida LLC Set to Begin Biodiesel Production

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Privately held Smart Fuels Florida LLC (Fruitland Park, Florida) says the company's new biodiesel plant will commence producing biodiesel by June 30, 2010. The company's test batches have passed spec evaluations. Smart Fuels Florida LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of privately held Smart Fuels LLC (Boston, Massachusetts).

The Fruitland Park Biodiesel plant will have a production capacity of up to 5 million gallons of D6751 annually. The facility will use animal-derived fats, and recycled and used cooking oils as feedstock.

The facility is located on Highway 441 in Fruitland Park, Florida, in Lake County, approximately 50 miles northwest of Orlando. The plant will employee about 10 people.

Once operational, Smart Fuels Florida LLC will be the fifth operational biodiesel plant in the state of Florida. Three other biodiesel facilities are currently planned in Florida.

Florida has one operational ethanol plant, are seven more are in the planning stages.
