University of Oregon Upgrading Chiller and Electrical Systems

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The University of Oregon (Eugene, Oregon) is under way with construction of a $34 million upgrade of its chiller and electrical systems. Construction started in December 2008 on the project, which includes a 7,200-square-foot (60'X120') chilled water plant consisting of four 500-ton Trane Centrifugal Chillers and improvements to the building's electrical systems, as well as a new substation. Construction completion is slated for the end of this year.

Soderstrom Architects (Portland, Oregon) was selected to provide architectural services for the upgrade, and Turner Construction Company (Portland) was selected to provide general construction services.
