Construction started in December 2008 on the project, which includes a 7,200-square-foot (60'X120') chilled water plant consisting of four 500-ton Trane Centrifugal Chillers and improvements to the building's electrical systems, as well as a new substation. Construction completion is slated for the end of this year.
The University of Oregon, which opened in 1876, is a public research university consisting of 60 major buildings.
