US BioEnergy Starts Construction on Ethanol Plant in Minnesota

U.S. BioEnergy Corporation (NASDAQ:USBE) (Brookings, South Dakota), and subsidiary U.S. BioEnergy Janesville LLC, has begun preliminary construction activity on a new fuel ethanol plant that will be located in Janesville, Minnesota. Plans call for the creation of a 100 million-gallon per year plant that will process 38 million bushels of corn into the renewable fuel. Dirt work and pre-construction activity are expected to take three to four months to complete and plant construction should be in full swing by the spring of 2007.
US BioEnergy Corporation is a producer and marketer of ethanol and distillers grains. The company currently owns and operates three ethanol plants and has four additional ethanol plants under construction. Upon completion of these initiatives, the company will own and operate seven plants with a combined expected ethanol production capacity of 600 million gallons per year.
