Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Industrial Info is tracking more than $2 billion in projects involving general contractor Brasfield & Gorrie (Birmingham, Alabama). With the exception of a project in Oklahoma, the projects are in the U.S. Southeast market region.

The largest projects involving Brasfield & Gorrie are in the Industrial Manufacturing sector and include automotive and aerospace projects. Among the largest of these is the construction of a grassroot vehicle tire manufacturing facility for Continental Tires (Fort Mill, South Carolina) in Clinton, Mississippi. Construction on the plant began in late 2016 and is expected to wrap up by the end of this year. The 1 million-square-foot facility is being constructed on a 900-acre site and will allow for the production of tires for large trucks and buses. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.

Also in Mississippi, Brasfield & Gorrie is at work on the expansion of Raytheon Company's (NYSE:RTN) (Waltham, Massachusetts) airborne navigation systems manufacturing plant in Forest, about 45 miles east of Jackson. The project entails expanding the existing facility by constructing a 50,000-square-foot building addition to house production equipment for multi-ton, heavily automated SPY-6 radars. Construction began in summer 2018 and is expected to be completed in early 2020. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.

In its home state of Alabama, Brasfield & Gorrie is at work on another aerospace project: the expansion of Airbus SE's (Leiden, Netherlands) aircraft assembly plant in Mobile. The project entails construction of a new hangar and an 81,000-square-foot building to support an assembly line for the Airbus A220, a narrow-body, medium range jet airliner. Construction on the $300 million project kicked off earlier this year and is expected to be completed next summer. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.

The company also has a few projects in the Pharmaceutical-Biotech sector. At Auburn University in Alabama, Brasfield & Gorrie is underway with construction of an academic classroom and laboratory complex addition. An existing laboratory and hall are being demolished to construct two new buildings with classroom and laboratory space for the research and instruction of life sciences such chemistry and biology as well as mathematics and other technology-related disciplines. Construction began last year and is expected to be completed in the summer of 2022. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.

In Davie, Florida, Brasfield & Gorrie is gearing up for construction of a medical research building addition for Nova Southeastern University. The building will be approximately 250,000 square feet and will complement existing facilities and health care centers. Construction on the $100 million project is expected to kick off in the first half of next year and be completed in the summer of 2021. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.

While a bit of an outlier compared with its other projects, Brasfield & Gorrie is underway with a Food & Beverage project in Owasso, Oklahoma, on the northeastern outskirts of Tulsa. The project includes the construction of a tea brewery and refrigerated distribution center for Milo's Tea Company (Bessemer, Alabama). The facility will include 19 loading docks, eight storage silos as well as tea production lines. The project kicked off earlier this year and is planned for completion in third-quarter 2020. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.
