Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--Following the erection of main steel beam for the No. 5 boiler in September 2012, Anhui Electric Power Construction No.1 Engineering Company (AEPC1) (Hefei, Anhui), a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) (Beijing), completed the erection of the boiler main steel beam for Unit 2 of Xinjiang Huadian Kashi Power Generation Company Limited's (Kashi, Xinjiang) Kashi Power Plant Phase III expansion on December 1, 2012, according to an announcement by the CEEC on December 4.

As reported, the first main steel beam for the No. 6 boiler was lifted and erected onto its final position on November 29, 2012. The No. 6 boiler is a supercritical watertube boiler made by Harbin Boiler Company Limited (Harbin, Heilongjiang). The boiler has eight main steel beams with a total weight of 250.1 metric tons. The lifting of the beam is performed by a 450-metric-ton track crane. Through two days of hard work, the last main steel beam for the No. 6 boiler was smoothly erected onto its final position, which marks that the erection of main steel beam for the No. 6 boiler has been completed.

The Kashi Power Plant Phase III expansion project is furnished with two 350-megawatt (MW), supercritical cogeneration units and is one of the key power source construction projects in Xinjiang. It also is the first 350-MW, supercritical cogeneration unit to receive approval in Xinjiang. The project has a total planned heating area of 11.4 million square meters. Through public bidding, its main equipment (boilers, turbines, generators) was awarded to Harbin Boiler Company Limited and Shanghai Electric Corporation Company Limited (Shanghai, China) in March 2011.

Successful completion of the erection for boiler main steel beams has created favorable conditions for the erection of the heating surface in the next stage. According to the schedule, both units of the project will begin operation in 2013.
