Brick & Tile Corporation Constructs New Brick Plant in Virginia

Brick & Tile Corporation of Lawrenceville (Lawrenceville, Virginia) has begun construction of a new brick plant at 16024 Governer Harrison Parkway in Lawrenceville, Virginia. The new state-of-the-art $22 million plant will be known as plant #4 and is being constructed adjacent to existing plant #3. It will produce 60 million bricks per year, expanding Brick & Tile Corporation's capacity up to 150 million bricks per year.
The prime contractor on the project is Ceric Incorporated (Golden, Colorado), one of the experts in engineering and equipment supply for brick plant manufacturing equipment worldwide. Site work is nearing completion and steel is being erected by Blair Construction Company (Danville, Virginia), who is acting as the building general contractor on the project.
Brian Dacus, plant manager of plant #3, will also manage plant #4 when it becomes operational in September of 2003.
The company began operating in 1946. Plant #1, which was built in 1967, is located at 1244 Brickyard Street, four miles from plants #3 & #4. Plant #2, which was built in 1973, has been shut down for some time.
