CNI24 Completes Civil Construction for Main Powerhouse of Unit 3 in Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant

Successful completion of the civil works paved a firm foundation for the erection of the dome for Unit 3 in the next stage. As the civil and erection contractor for Unit 3, CNI24 also completed the erection of all steel supports for the gantry for Unit 3 on August 7, 2012.

Fujian Fuqing Nuclear Power Company Limited (Fuqing, Fujian), a subsidiary of China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) (Beijing), is responsible for the development and future operations of the project. China Nuclear Power Engineering Company Limited (Beijing), another subsidiary of the CNNC, is serving as the general contractor for the construction of the project.

The construction of Phase I (units 1 and 2) kicked off on November 21, 2008. Construction of Unit 3 then kicked off on December 31, 2010. According to the schedule, units 1 and 2 of Phase I will begin operation in 2013 and 2014, respectively; Unit 3 will begin operation in 2015; and the entire project will begin operations in 2018.
