Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Coshocton Ethanol LLC (Coshocton, Ohio), a wholly owned subsidiary of Altra Incorporated (Los Angeles, California), is wrapping up construction activity and expects to begin grinding corn at its new fuel ethanol plant in Coshocton tomorrow, January 25, 2008.
The estimated $105 million plant will have the capacity of producing 55 million to 60 million gallons of ethanol annually and process more than 20 million bushels of locally grown corn per year.
The plant is located at 18137 County Road 271 just south of Coshocton and roughly 60 miles northeast of Columbus, Ohio.
Altra is looking to become a large player in the U.S. fuel ethanol market with one plant, Altra Phoenix Bio Industries, an operational plant that the company acquired in Goshen, California. Two additional plants are under construction in Cloverdale, Indiana, and Carleton, Nebraska, and are expected to be producing ethanol by spring 2008. Additional facilities could be built in Marion, Ohio, and Boardman, Oregon. If all plants move forward as planned, Altra will have the capacity of producing more than 450 million gallons of fuel ethanol annually.
