NATURAL GAS
U.S. Gas Futures Slide from 10-Week High - U.S. natural gas futures on Monday slid from the highest price since February 8, as weather forecasts for the U.S. called for milder weather than originally predicted.
FINANCIAL
Halliburton Cut 6,000 Jobs in First Quarter - In an operations update released Friday, oilfield services company Halliburton Company (NYSE:HAL) (Houston, Texas) said that it had cut 6,000 jobs during the first three months of this year.
Plains All American, Cheniere Sign Long-Term Storage Deal - Plains All American Pipeline LP (NYSE:PAA) (Houston) and Cheniere Energy Partners LP (NYSEMKT:CQP) (Houston) announced on Monday that they have signed a deal for Plains subsidiary Pine Prairie Energy Center to provide 8 billion cubic feet of natural gas storage capacity to Cheniere beginning in 2018 to serve Cheniere's Sabine Pass liquefied natural gas facility in Louisiana.
REFINING
LyondellBasell Sets Sights on Refinery Repair, Ethylene Expansion - LyondellBasell Industries (NYSE:LYB) (Rotterdam, The Netherlands) has two big items on its to-do list for the second quarter: repair its fire-stricken refinery in Houston, Texas; and concentrate on a turnaround and expansion at its Corpus Christi, Texas, ethylene facility, according to Chief Executive Officer Bob Patel.
POWER
Construction Begins on Yucatan Peninsula Windfarm - Eolica del Golfo I SAPI de CV(Mexico City) and Vive Energia (Mexico City) have begun the construction of a windfarm in the state of Yucatan, Mexico. The power station will be located about in the Dzilam de Bravo municipality near the coast. The total estimated value of the project is around $135 million.
