- U.S. President Donald Trump intends to nominate attorney Kevin McIntyre to be chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the White House said on Thursday. (Reuters)

CRUDE OIL
Saudi Arabia Curbs Oil Shipments to U.S.
- U.S. imports from Saudi Arabia are running at the slowest rate since 2015, and the slowest for the time of year for over five years. U.S. crude imports from Saudi Arabia averaged less than 900,000 barrels per day in the four weeks ending on July 7, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. (Reuters)

Exxon Adds 2.8 Million Offshore Acres
- Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:XOM) has added 2.8 million acres to its portfolio in the South American Guyana-Suriname Basin, off the coast of Suriname's capital, Paramaribo. (Fuel Fix)

LNG
ConocoPhillips to Mothball Alaska's Kenai LNG Plant
- ConocoPhillips (NYSE:COP) intends to fully shut down its Kenai, Alaska, liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal because of depressed global LNG prices and ConocoPhillips' inability to find a suitable buyer for the plant. The last LNG export from the Kenai plant was in the fall of 2015. (Alaska Journal of Commerce)

REFINING
Pipeline Closure Could Affect Gulf Coast Refiners
- This Bloomberg articles says that the closure of the Longhorn crude oil pipeline in Texas after a spill could affect Houston-area refiners by limiting supply and forcing a reduction in run rates. (Bloomberg)
