Two Coal-Fired Plants to Shut Down in Ohio - Electricity company Dayton Power & Light said on Monday it would shut down two coal-fired power plants in southern Ohio next year for economic reasons. (Reuters)
PIPELINES
TransCanada Seeks Approval for Pipeline to Petronas LNG Terminal - TransCanada Corporation (NYSE:TRP) has secured shippers' commitment for a pipeline associated with Malaysian state-owned oil company Petronas' pending Pacific NorthWest liquefied natural gas terminal in western Canada and will seek early construction, the company said on Monday. (Reuters)
Cheniere Inks Contracts for Construction of Midship Natural Gas Pipeline - Midship Pipeline Company LLC, a subsidiary of Cheniere Energy Incorporated (NYSE:LNG) (Houston, Texas), has signed precedent agreements with foundation shippers to support the construction of a 200-mile natural gas pipeline. Midship also has launched a binding open season to solicit additional long-term commitments from shippers. (IIR)
CRUDE OIL
Oil Falls as U.S. Drilling Undermines OPEC Cuts - Oil futures fell 1.2% in New York on Monday as a Libyan port is set to resume shipments and the U.S. drilling revival undermines the potential for OPEC output curbs to rebalance the market. (Bloomberg)
PRODUCTION
Texas Drilling Permits on the Rise - The Railroad Commission of Texas, the state's oil and gas regulator, approved 991 permits last month, most of which were for new wells. That's an improvement compared with February 2015, when the commission approved 573 drilling permits as the price of oil had fallen to $26 a barrel. (Fuel Fix)
