Design firms have been selected to provide architectural and engineering services for a University of California San Diego satellite utilities plant addition located on 9500 Gillman Drive in the central utilities plant in La Jolla, California (PEC 06004195, Plant 1046067).

Plant design is currently underway. The project will involve the construction of two 4,000 square foot buildings, plus the installation of a new boiler and chiller to increase the campus steam and chilled water supply. Designs are expected to be complete in July 2004, with subcontractor bid documents released in August 2004. Proposed construction is slated for September 2004, with completion in the fall 2005.

Laidlaw Schultz Architects in Newport Beach, California was awarded the architectural portion for the project and P2S Engineering Incorporated located in Long Beach, California was awarded the engineering portion.

The campus consists of a six-college structure, which includes (Eleanor Roosevelt College, Thurgood Marshall College, Earl Warren College, Revelle College, John Muir College and Sixth College). All colleges provide unique requirements in which students may pursue.
