Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--The first unit of China Guodian Corporation's (Beijing) 1,200-megawatt (MW) Guizhou Duyun Fuquan Power Plant passed the 168-hour, full-load continuous trial operation. It was handed over for commercial operations on December 22, 2012, according to an announcement from China Guodian Corporation on December 24.

Commissioning of the unit kicked off on December 1, 2012. On December 4, the steam turbine first reached the rated speed of 3,000 rotations per minute. On December 6, the unit was connected to the grid for the first time. The 168-hour trial operation kicked off on December 15 and was completed on December 22.

During the commissioning, various parameters of the unit were rated at an "excellent" level, and all electrical and thermal instruments and protections are in full operation. Of which, coal consumption output reached 298 grams per kilowatt-hour. The flue gas denitration device also was put into operation, together with the main units.

The Guodian Duyun Fuquan Power Plant is located in Machangping Town in Fuquan City of Duyun, which is about 100 kilometers from Guiyang, the capital city of southwest China's Guizhou province. The power plant is furnished with two 600-MW, supercritical, coal-fired units in the initial stage. The project was jointly invested by China Guodian Corporation (55%), Guangzhou Development Electric Power Company Limited (Guangzhou, Guangdong) (30%), Guizhou Shuicheng Coal and Electricity Company Limited (Liupanshui, Guizhou) (10%) and Qiannan Prefecture State-Owned Assets Operation Company Limited (5%).

Southwest Electric Power Design Institute (Chengdu, Sichuan) and Guizhou Electric Power Design Institute (Guiyang, Guizhou) are jointly responsible for the design and engineering of the project. Jiangxi Chengda Supervision Company Limited (Nanchang, Jiangxi) is responsible for the construction management and supervision of the project. Guizhou Electric Power Construction No. 2 Engineering Company (GEPC2) (Guizhou, Guyang), Northwest Electric Power Construction No. 3 Engineering Company (NEPC3) (Xian, Gansu) and Guizhou Electric Power Construction No. 1 Engineering Company (GEPC1) (Guizhou, Guyang) are jointly responsible for the construction and erection of the project. GEPC2 is responsible for the main powerhouse excavation for units 1 and 2, the erection of Unit 1, the coal-handling system, the flue gas denitration (nitrogen oxide control) system, and part of the auxiliary facilities for the project.
