Imperium Renewables Breaks Ground on Largest Biodiesel Plant in the Country
Plans call for the construction of a 100 million gallon per year biodiesel plant that will utilize vegetable oils as feedstock to produce the fuel.

Privately held Imperium Renewables Incorporated (Seattle, Washington) has broken ground on the largest biodiesel plant in the country, which will be located at the Port of Grays Harbor in Aberdeen, Washington.
The company selected J.H. Kelly L.L.C. as the general contractor for this estimated $75 million plant. Site preparation and excavation are in full swing, and construction is expected to take twelve months to complete.
The Imperium project is also marks the fifteenth stand alone grassroot biodiesel plant that is currently under construction in the Nation. The others are Blue Sun Biodiesel (Alamosa, Colorado); Dakota Skies Biodiesel (Minot, South Dakota), Central Iowa Energy (Newton, Iowa); Integrity Biofuels (Morristown, Illinois); Beatrice Biodiesel (Beatrice, Nebraska); ADM (Velva, North Dakota); Prairie Pride (Nevada, Missouri); Energy Conversion (Friona, Texas); Galveston Bay Biodiesel (Galveston, Texas); GeoGreen Fuels (Gonzales, Texas); East Fork Biodiesel (Algona, Iowa); JatroDiesel (Miamisburg, Ohio); Independence Renewable Energy (Perdue Hill, Alabama) and Northern Biodiesel (Ontario, New York). The combined plants will add over 328 million gallons of biodiesel capacity to the industry when all plants become operational.
In the spring of 2005, Imperium Renewables, Inc. was formed to commercialize our technology across the nation and around the world. In May of 2006 we announced development of one of the largest Biodiesel refineries in the country, 100 million gallons per year, in Grays Harbor Washington. Imperium Grays Harbor will be online by mid 2007. Additional sites are under development that will deliver another 300 million gallons per year of capacity by the end of 2008.
