Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Mikros Manufacturing (Claremont, New Hampshire), a precision oriented micro-machining business, has completed, and is in the process of relocating to, its new plant in Claremont, New Hampshire. The 15,000 square foot plant is located in a new industrial park and Mikros Manufacturing expects to be completely up and operational in early 2003.

The grassroot plant is phase I of a three phase project. Early plans are for two more expansions at the new location. Each expansion will involve the construction of a new 15,000 square foot building and installation of new manufacturing equipment. Phase II is expected to begin construction in the summer of 2004 with phase III beginning in 2005. Each phase of the project will cost Mikros Manufacturing approximately $2 million due to the nature of their business. Mikros Manufacturing requires each building to have a clean room atmosphere and be vibration sensitive.

Mikros Manufacturing, established in 1991, manufactures nozzle plates for industrial ink jet printers. The main applications of their product include: bar coding, marking of shipping containers, check canceling and custom letter or poster printing. These nozzles are very small (typically 25 to 75 microns), must have precise shapes and often not simply a straight cylinder, and dimensions must be kept within tight tolerances, often less then a micron. Mikros Manufacturing's technology originated in a NASA-sponsored research project to develop an ammonia evaporator for the Space Station Freedom. Mikros Manufacturing has recently developed a novel cold plate targeted for high powered electronic systems.
