Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--China's overall social power consumption reached 2.95 trillion kilowatt-hours (kWh) from January to November 2007, an increase of 14.94% year over year, according to a monthly report on the Power Industry published by the China Electricity Council.
Power consumption in the first industry (agriculture-plantations, forestry, livestock and fisheries) reached 78.74 billion kWh, an increase of 5.92%.
Power consumption in the second industry (construction, manufacturing and energy production) reached 2.26 trillion kWh, an increase of 16.21%.
Power consumption in the third industry (service and transportation) reached 289.72 billion kWh, an increase of 12.56%.
Power consumption in the urban and township residential area reached 329.18 billion kWh, an increase of 10.96%.
From January to November, overall power consumption reached 2.23 trillion kWh, an increase of 16.22% year over year of which the light and heavy industries rose 9.68% and 17.8%, respectively.
There were 15 provinces and regions with increases above the national average level (14.94%):
Inner Mongolia: 32.52%
Shanxi: 20.4%
Henan: 18.76%
Xinjiang: 17.3%
Ningxia: 17.19%
Guangxi: 17.01%
Hunan: 16.67%
Qinghai: 16.53%
Hebei: 16.45%
Hainan: 15.95%
Anhui: 15.9%
Yunnan: 15.67%
Fujian: 15.44%
Zhejiang: 15.22%
Jiangsu: 15.11%
In regard to power generation, the national power output of power plants above scale from January to November reached 2.92 trillion kWh, an increase of 15.8% year over year.
Hydropower output reached 405.26 billion kWh, an increase of 16.1%.
Thermal power output reached 2.45 trillion kWh, an increase of 15.5%.
Nuclear power output reached 56.59 billion kWh, an increase of 16%.
Power output dispatched by major grids nationwide reached 2.52 trillion kWh, an increase of 16.53%, and the maximum load reached 446.88 million kilowatts (kW), an increase of 16.21% year over year.
From January to November, total installed capacity of power plants with a capacity of 60 megawatts (MW) or above reached 665.56 million kW, an increase of 18.2% year over year.
The installed capacity of hydropower reached 118.05 million kW, an increase of 13.2%.
Thermal power rose to 534.43 million kW, an increase of 18.8%.
Nuclear power rose to 8.85 million kW, an increase of 28.2%.
From January to November, the total electricity supplied to grids nationwide reached 2.55 trillion kWh, and the total electricity sold by grids nationwide reached 2.39 trillion kWh, an increase of 16.56% and 16.75%, respectively.
The total electricity transmitted over regions nationwide reached 87.47 billion kWh, and imports and exports of electricity reached 17.7 billion kWh. Imports reached 3.63 billion kWh, and export reached 14.07 billion kWh.
From January to November, the average accumulated utilization hours of power generation equipment nationwide was 4,583 hours, a drop of 203 hours year over year.
The average hours of utilization of hydropower equipment was 3,337 hours, an increase of 141 hours.
The average hours of utilization of thermal power equipment was 4,835 hours, a drop of 305 hours.
The average coal consumption in the national power supply dropped 11g/kWh to 353 g/kWh. The rate of plant service nationwide reached 5.91% of which hydropower reached 0.41% and thermal power reached 6.75%. Line losses reached 6.29%, a decrease of 0.15 percentage points year over year.
From January to November, the total added production capacity (in official operation) nationwide reached 85,514.7 MW.
Hydropower added 10,812 MW, thermal power added 70,870.5 MW, and nuclear power added 2,120 MW.
Added substation capacity in grids of 220 kilovolts or higher reached 133,920 megavolt-amperes.
Newly added transmission lines reached 23,255 kilometers.
