Researched by Industrial Info Resources Latin America (Cordoba, Argentina)--Paper manufacturing company Papelera del Nevado S.A. (Almoloya De Juarez, Mexico) is reviewing issues to proceed with the installation of a used sack kraft paper machine in its paper mill in Almoloya De Juarez (Estado De Mexico, Mexico). The total investment in the project is estimated to be about $30 million.

The aim of the project is to increase the plant´s manufacturing capacity through the addition of a used paper machine that will have a capacity to produce 350 tons per day of sack kraft paper. The machine was purchased at the end of 2011 by Voith (Heidenheim, Germany), which is awaiting the capital approval to install it. After the project is completed, the plant will have a total production capacity of 700 tons per day. The installation of the machine depends on market conditions in Mexico, and the board of directors expects to have a decision on the subject in mid-2013. This project requires the expansion of the facility, and structural modifications will be carried out. Infrastructure construction is expected to begin in the third quarter of this next year, and the machine is expected to be operating in the second quarter of 2014.

Almoloya De Juarez's mill is located in the state of Estado De Mexico. Its operations started in 1978, and it has a current production capacity of 350 tons per day. At present, approximately 450 people work at the facility.

Papelera del Nevado was founded in 1978, and the company is engaged primarily in the manufacture of paper to supply converting paper industries. The firm exports its products to the U.S., Central America and the Caribbean, with an investment program that allows permanent, constantly increasing capacity.

Voith was founded in January 1867 and has approximately 40,000 employees today, annual sales of $6.68 billion and locations in 50 countries all over the world. It is a global provider of technology and industrial services. A large proportion of the world's paper production is manufactured on Voith paper machines.
