Electric (Mountain, Michigan), has completed construction of the 32-mile, 345-kilovolt (kV) Rockdale-West Middleton transmission line project in Cambridge, Wisconsin. The project cost more than $200 million to construct, and it began commercial operations four months before its February deadline.

The project was introduced in 2004, with 20-plus public meetings over a three-year period. Construction was greenlighted in 2011, following the Public Service Commission's (PSC) review in 2009. The Rockdale-West Middleton transmission line project was built to avoid agricultural land, protect water and wetlands, and reduce visual impacts.
