Royal Dutch Shell plc has begun its exit from the onshore Abadi liquefied natural gas (LNG) project as part of its divestment of Indonesia's Masela block, the Upstream Oil and Gas Special Regulatory Task Force of Indonesia (SKK Migas) has confirmed.
Shell holds a 35% stake from the $10.3 billion LNG project, which is located in Maluku, Indonesia.
Shell will divest the block over an 18-month period, according to The Jakarta Post. Despite receiving permission to divest, Shell said it still is committed to supporting the project's development until the completion of its divestment.
