Steel Tube Manufacturer Automates Northeast Mississippi Plant

Plymouth Tube Company (Warrenville, Illinois) has begun construction to automate the steel tube short cut area at its plant located in Eupora, Mississippi. Construction on the $2.5 million project began in mid January 2003 and is scheduled to be completed late spring of this year.
The project will automate finishing equipment, which includes steel tube prepping, cleaning, coating, lubrication, oil dipping, and packaging. The finishing process involves a short prepping line to clean the tubes, put phosphate coating on them for lubrication, an automatic oil dipping line, and automatic packaging.
The Eupora steel tubing plant has been operational since the mid 1980's and employs approximately 140 employees.
Plymouth Tube Company, a privately held international manufacturer founded in 1924, and headquartered in Warrenville Illinois, operates eight plants in the USA and one in the UK. They are a supplier of specialty tubing, extruded shaped steel, and nickel based alloy and titanium throughout the world.
