Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas). Trunkline LNG Company, LLC (Houston, Texas), a business unit of Panhandle Energy (Houston, Texas), a subsidiary of Southern Union Company (NYSE:SUG) (Houston, Texas), has started construction on a $250 million project at its Lake Charles, Louisiana LNG receiving and regasification terminal. The Infrastructure Enhancement Project (IEP) is designed to increase the efficiency of the last two phases of expansion at the terminal that increased its daily LNG regasification and natural gas send out capacity to 1.8 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d).
Trunkline LNG began construction on the IEP in April 2007. All things considered Trunkline expects to have the project completed and in service by the last quarter of 2008, which could coincide with the possible construction start-up of a phase III expansion to the LNG receiving and regasification terminal.
