Weavexx Expands Industrial Textile Manufacturing Plant in Mississippi

Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Weavexx Company, Incorporated (Wake Forest, North Carolina), a producer of custom fabrics used in papermaking, is currently underway with an expansion of their Starkville Plant in Mississippi. Construction began, in February of this year, on two buildings totaling 40,000 square feet that will house manufacturing equipment for nylon press felts. This site expansion is estimated to cost approximately $9 million ($2 million for building construction and $7 million for processing equipment). Approximately, 65 jobs will be created (Plant 1506958).

Jesco Incorporated located in Fulton, Mississippi was awarded the engineering and construction contract for the expansion.

In 2002, the Starkville plant underwent an expansion doubling their manufacturing capacity with the installation of a $12 million, 1.5-million pound loom to meet increased demand for its products.

Weavexx Corporation, founded in 1890, is headquartered in Wake Forest, North Carolina. They manufacture paper industry textiles and provide the most innovative forming fabrics, press felts, dryer fabrics, and wet-end drainage equipment for all grades of paper and machine types. Weavexx uses heat-transfer-fluid systems to heat-set several layers of nylon-based stock into so-called press felts that are used in high-quality paper manufacturing and sets the felts by heating them from the inside via a heated roll and from the outside by means of a hot cap. Weavexx operates a woolen felt mill in New York and a wire plant in Ontario.
