Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)-- Williams Companies Incorporated (NYSE:WMB) (Tulsa, Oklahoma) has awarded the field construction contract for its new Willow Creek NGL production plant to the Birmingham, Alabama, office of Washington Group International. The contract covers all field work and site fabrication and related construction for the Willow Creek plant to be located near Meeker, Colorado. Williams had previously awarded the engineering, procurement and construction/management contract to the Tulsa, Oklahoma, office of Linde BOC Process Plants LLC for the Willow Creek plant.
When completed in June or July of 2009, the new $350 million-plus plant will have a natural gas processing capacity of 450 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd) and a production rate of 25,000 to 30,000 barrels per day (BBL/d) of natural gas liquids, such as ethane, propane, butane and natural gasoline. Williams is currently involved in the site-preparation phase of the project and expects to begin pouring the foundation in May 2008.
ONEOK Incorporated (NYSE:OKE) (Tulsa) will supply pipeline transportation services to the new plant. The new pipeline will interconnect with a planned NGL pipeline ONEOK is going to build from the area to Conway, Kansas. Once the Willow Creek NGL plant is completed, Williams plans to construct a second cryogenic train at the plant to effectively double the plant's production capacity.
