Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--XinAo Gas Holdings Limited (HKG:2688) (Langfang, Hebei), a leading clean energy distributor in China, has submitted plans to Hunan's government for three liquefied-natural-gas (LNG) terminals that would located in the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan region. The information was disclosed at a meeting of natural gas suppliers held December 20 in Changsha, the capital of Hunan province.
According to the plans, XinAo Gas will invest $30 million to build the terminals, which will have a total storage capacity of 3.42 million cubic meters, or enough to cover three days' supply. The terminal could become the largest in Asia.
Hunan and Hubei share the same natural gas pipeline from Zhongxian of Sichuan province to Wuhan, the capital city of Hubei province. In the past five years, the region's demand for natural gas has been booming.
Presently, XinAo Gas has laid 2,300 kilometers of gas pipeline, covering 70% of the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan region. XinAo Gas reportedly will invest $380 million more to lay down about 3,000 kilometers of high and middle pressure gas pipeline to improve its coverage to more than 90% in the region.
