ZTPC Wins Construction, Erection Bid for China Shenhua's Zhoushan Power Plant Unit 4 Addition

Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--Zhejiang Thermal Power Construction Company (ZTPC) (Hangzhou, Zhejiang), a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) (Beijing), recently received the notice of bid award from China Shenhua International Engineering Company Limited (Beijing), the tendering agent of the Shenhua Guohua Zhoushan Power Plant Unit 4 Addition Project. ZTPC has won the bid for the main works construction and erection for the unit addition project, according to an announcement from the CEEC on February 20, 2013.

The Shenhua Guohua Zhoushan Power Plant is located in Dinghai District of Zhoushan City, in eastern China's Zhejiang province. The power plant was built in 1997, with three 300-megawatt (MW) coal-fired units in operation at present. Unit 3 of the project was commissioned in 2010.

As reported, Unit 4 refers to the second unit in Phase II of the Guohua Zhoushan Power Plant. The project will be furnished with one 350-MW, supercritical, coal-fired unit, together with flue gas desulfurization and denitration devices, and a sea water desalting device. Various technical indicators of the unit will be of an advanced level among similar units, both in China and abroad.

In September 2011, the project received preliminary approval from the National Energy Administration. Pre-stage preparation of the project then kicked off. The turbine, generator and boiler for the project had been awarded to Shanghai Electric Corporation (Shanghai) earlier. The groundbreaking ceremony of the project was held in October 2012.

According to the schedule, the project will begin operations in 2014. Upon completion, the project will be an important power source support in Zhejiang grid.
