AEP-Public Service Company of Oklahoma (Tulsa, Oklahoma), a subsidiary of American Electric Power Company (NYSE:AEP) (Columbus, Ohio), has started construction on the $85 million, 170-megawatt expansion project at the Riverside Power Station located in Jenks, Oklahoma.
Construction of the project began this month with full commercial start-up scheduled to commence in December. It is AEPs second expansion project to be spearheaded this year by Wood Group Power Solutions. The project will consist of installing two 85-megawatt dual fuel GE Power Systems MS7001EA combustion turbine generators equipped with dry low NOx burners to reduce NOx emissions. The new units will operate in a simple cycle peaking capacity generating a total of 170 megawatts of much needed power for AEP customers.
Wood Group Power Solutions of Tulsa, Oklahoma, a subsidiary of Wood Group, (Houston, Texas), will provide the turnkey EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) Services for the project.
