Researched by Industrial Info Resources Australia (Perth, Australia)--Dundonnell Wind Farm Pty Limited (Victoria, Australia) plans to finalize and submit the planning permit application for a 270-megawatt (MW) windfarm project that will be located 25 kilometers northeast of Mortlake, in Dundonnell, Victoria.
Dundonnell Wind Farm Pty Limited is a special-purpose entity created by Trust Power Australia Holdings Pty Limited (South Australia, Australia) to develop the windfarm project.
The community-driven Dundonnell windfarm initially was proposed by NewEn Australia Pty Limited (New South Wales) in 2009, in response to the local landholders' interest.
In 2012, NewEn Australia engaged Trust Power as a development partner for the Dundonnell project and sold the full ownership rights to Trust Power in 2013.
Trust Power aims to obtain necessary approvals from the authorities by early next year to begin the project construction by mid-2015. The project proposal will involve establishment of an electricity grid connection from the windfarm site to the existing 500-kilovolt transmission line at the Mortlake Power Station, which is 33 kilometers south of the site.
Trust Power also acquired NewEn's 12-MW Salt Creek windfarm project. The windfarm would be built 5 kilometers south of Woorndoo, Victoria, and would feature six turbines with capacities of 2 MW each. Salt Creek was initially planned for commissioning in early 2015, but the construction is currently not expected to begin until mid-2015 due to Renewable Energy Target review delays. Trust Power plans to bring the windfarm online by the end of 2015.
