Baldinger Acquires Site for $30 Million Bakery Relocation

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Baldinger Bakery's (Saint Paul, Minnesota) plans to transform a former foundry site into an industrial-scale bakery have progressed with the recent acquisition of the proposed site in Saint Paul.

The company will construct a 130,000-square-foot building on a 9-acre site and will relocate production equipment from the current 46,000-square-foot facility on the west side of town. Nearly $20 million of the overall $30 million investment will go toward new equipment that will automate the production process.

Construction is slated to begin in the first quarter of 2010, and the facility could be in full production early 2011. The selection of suppliers and main contractors could begin in January.

Baldinger has been in business since 1888 and has 125 full-time employees.
