Marfrig Global Foods SA, with Asociacion Paraguaya de Productores y Exportadores de Carne (APPEC), is analyzing a big investment to construct a new cattle slaughtering and processing plant in Asuncion, Paraguay. With an investment of $100 million, the project is awaiting authorization for expenditure (AFE), and could be moving forward by the end of 2020.
Paraguay is one of the biggest meat-producing countries in Latin America and has 11 existing slaughtering plants.
