Canada's Premier Tech Expands Manufacturing Facilities

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Premier Tech LTD (Riviera-Du-Loup, Quebec) is building a 50,000-square-foot packaging machinery manufacturing plant expansion. Construction began in April, with completion expected by the end of July. Also being built is a 60,000-square-foot office building on the 7.5-acre site. Marcel Charest et Fils (Quebec City, Quebec) is building the additions on a campus composed of two packaging machinery manufacturing plants, surrounded by 13 other buildings.
At the other plant on the site, Premier Tech will add manufacturing equipment later this year, following the completion of the two new buildings. The company is investing about $12 million on the projects. Premier Tech is known for its products and state-of-the-art technologies in horticulture, agricultural, packaging equipment and water treatment systems. It is also investing in a new indoor soccer stadium and Jeux du Quebec de 2021 (the Quebec Games 2021).
In the last four years, the company has have acquired facilities from Agrium Advanced Technologies, as well as Almeida Martins (Jundiai, Brazil), Atelier Plastique Forezien (Andrézieux-Bouthéon, France) and Smurfit Kappa Comptoir du Pin's Tree Bark Division (Castets, France). With these acquisitions, Premier Tech is expanding its corporate headquarters, creating new jobs and adding to product output.
The company is developing new bio-herbicides, which can eliminate broadleaved weeds, particularly dandelions. In packaging, the company produces completely integrated packaging lines from bulk product infeed to wrapped pallets, increasing the need for Premier Tech to expand its sales, office and manufacturing facilities.
