Cargill Crop Nutrition Plans Major Upgrades of Sulfuric Acid Unit in Florida
Earlier this year Cargill and IMC Global Incorporated (NYSE: IGL) announced plans to combine their operations to create a new, publicly traded company.

Cargill Crop Nutrition (Riverview, Florida), a subsidiary of Cargill, Incorporated (Minneapolis, Minnesota), has begun design and engineering for a retrofit of the No. 5 sulfuric acid unit located at their Green Bay Fertilizer plant located in Bartow, Florida (Plant 1007533; PEC 05002483). Construction for this estimated $5 million project is planned to begin in the first quarter of next year in conjunction with a planned maintenance turnaround.
NORAM Engineering & Construction Limited (Vancouver, British Columbia) has been selected to provide engineering and design for the replacement of the 2,000 ton per day (approximate) units' superheater plus supporting process equipment. Monsanto Enviro-Chem Systems Incorporated (Saint Louis, Missouri) has been selected to consult on the replacement of the units' process steam boiler as part of the retrofit and upgrade.
