Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Compañia Española de Petroleos SA (MCE:CEP) (CEPSA) (Madrid, Spain) has scheduled a maintenance overhaul by the first quarter of 2015 at the 105,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Tenerife Refinery, located in Santa Cruz de Tenerife in the Canary Islands.
The future planned turnaround, which mainly will entail cleaning and inspection work, will be carried out in the refinery's two main areas: the Distillation and Catalytic Cracking area, and the Auxiliary Service area. These areas consist of 22 operational units, such as the 90,000-BBL/d Cadu 2 (Crude Unit), the 15,000-BBL/d Foster unit (Crude), the 8,000-BBL/d Vacuum unit, the 35,000-BBL/d Visbreaker, the 15,000-BBL/d Platformer, and the 16,000-BBL/d Hydrocracker. The overhaul is set to start by the first quarter of 2015 and is expected to last approximately 30 nonproduction days.
General maintenance overhauls at the the refinery are performed every six years. The most recent overhaul was performed in March 2009 and lasted 28 nonproduction days.
The Tenerife Refinery is one of three refineries that CEPSA operates in Spain. The facility has been in operation since November 1930.
