Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--All 30 wind turbines of Huadian Ningdong windfarm's Phase I project were put into operation at the end of December 2007. This is the first wind power project for Huadian Power International Corporation Limited (Jinan, China), a limited flagship of China Huadian Corporation (Beijing).
The windfarm is an important part of China Huadian's strategic development in Ningxia Region. The 30 wind farms each have a capacity of 1,500 kilowatts (kW). Construction on the first wind turbine began in July 2007. The first unit was put into operation in December.
During the trial operation, the average wind speed reached 5.57 m/s, the daily valid utilization reached 19.3 hours, and the accumulated output reached 806.6 megawatt-hours. The maximum single-unit power output reached 1,600kW, the daily maximum equivalent utilization reached 8.77 hours, and the equipment availability was 100%.
After the last 1,500-kW wind turbine was successfully synchronized to the grid on December 30, 2007, all 60 wind turbines of Phase I of Huadian Xiaochaohu's No.1 windfarm were put into operation. So far, the electricity sold on-grid of the project reached 613.4 megawatt-hours.
The windfarm is in northwestern China's Xinjiang Autonomous Region. Fifty-four of the wind turbines are of 750-kW capacity, and six are of 1,500-kW capacity. The foundation for the project was laid in March 2007, and the concrete for the foundation of the first wind turbine was completed in July 2007.
