Participation into the investment for Shanxi Hunyuan Coal, Power and Chemical Integrated Project is an important strategic step for China Huadian Corporations development in Shanxi province. Based on the principle of mutual benefit and the long-term development in coal power, as well as their upstream and downstream industry chains, HCIC and CWDH will surely establish a sound partnership in an even broader field and deeper level by fully taking the advantages of each party under the guideline of the state energy development policy and the support of local government, said Deng Jianling in his address to the ceremony.
General manager of HCIC, Ding Huande, and Chairman of CWDH, Chen Yuandong, signed the agreement on behalf of both parties.
The Hunyuan Coal, Power and Chemical Integrated Project is located in Hunyuan County, Datong City of Shanxi Province, and is one of the largest coal producers in China. The project is comprised of the 800,000 metric ton per year dimethyl ether and 1.2 million metric ton per year methane projects, a 1,200-megawatt coal-fired power plant, and the associated coalmine. The feasibility study report for the 800,000 metric ton per year dimethyl ether and 1.2 million metric ton per year methane projects passed the examination organized by the China International Engineering Consulting Corporation (CIECC) (Beijing, China) on December 26, 2006. Preparation for the power plant project is currently ongoing, and is expected to be put into operation by the end of the Eleventh Five-Year Plan (2006-2010).
