Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Privately held, logistics and distribution company, Crystal Distribution Services Incorporated (Waterloo, Iowa) is expanding their Cedar Falls, Iowa food distribution warehouse.
Currently, the structural steel is being erected at the site (Plant 1062855) located at 317 Savannah Park Road on a 70,000 square foot addition that will increase the total square footage of the facility to over 170,000 square feet. Local contractor Fred Rose (Cedar Falls, Iowa) is acting as the general contractor for the job.
The new area will be a temperature controlled part of the facility mainly housing non-perishable food items and related packaged products. Storage racking as well as air handlers will be installed along with some new dock space.
The cost of the project is estimated at around $1.5 million and completion is expected by May of 2004.
In 1979, Crystal Distribution Services operated two buildings with less than 500,000 cubic feet of space. Today, the company operates over 5,000,000 cubic feet of warehousing space in six locations. Three are located in Waterloo, Iowa with another two in Cedar Falls, Iowa and the sixth location is in Hudson, Iowa.
