Baker Hughes Announces Increase in Worldwide Rig Counts - Baker Hughes announced that the worldwide rig count for February 2017 was 2,027, up 109 from the 1,918 counted in January 2017, and up 266 from the 1,761 counted in February 2016. (Business Wire)
EIA: U.S. NatGas Output to Rise in 2017 - The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) on Tuesday projected dry natural gas production would rise in 2017 after falling in 2016. EIA projected production would rise to 73.69 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) in 2017 from 72.31 Bcf/d in 2016, according to its Short Term Energy Outlook in March. (Reuters)

U.S. Judge Rules Against Tribes Trying to Stop Dakota Access Pipeline - A U.S. judge on Tuesday ruled against Native American tribes seeking to stop the Dakota Access Pipeline as their legal options narrow weeks before oil is set to flow on the project. Judge James Boasberg of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia rejected the tribes' request for an injunction to withdraw permission issued by the Army Corps for the last link of the oil pipeline under Lake Oahe in North Dakota. Shell, Saudi Aramco Reach Terms to Dissolve Motiva - Royal Dutch Shell plc (NYSE:RDS-A) and state-owned Saudi Aramco announced late Monday they've successfully negotiated the dissolution of their two-decade joint venture, Houston-based Motiva Enterprises, which owns three refineries in Texas and Louisiana, including the massive Port Arthur Refinery, which will belong to Saudi Aramco. The deal is expected to close in the second quarter. (Fuel Fix)
