Grain Processing Corporation (Muscatine, Iowa) a privately held company owned by Varied Investments Incorporated also of Muscatine, is completing the final touches on a process-debottlenecking project at their corn wet-milling facility in Muscatine, Iowa.

The project began back in January of this year and will increase the companies Ethyl Alcohol capacity by ten million gallons per year bringing the plants capacity nameplate to about 30 million gallons per year. Completion of the project is expected sometime late September of this year.

The debottleneck will give the plant greater flexibility in the use of starch milk feedstock to the Ethyl Alcohol, Starch and Maltodextrin products produced at the site.

The company's pure and denatured natural ethyl alcohols derived from corn feedstocks, are used in the production of vodka, gin, blended whiskey, cordials, white distilled vinegar, flavor extracts for soft drinks & food products, mouthwash, hair sprays and other personal care products.

GPC also increased the volume of distillers dried grains with solubles it produces at the site that is used as a feed ingredient and marketed through its other division located at the same site, by the name of Kent Feeds Incorporated.

Varied Investments Incorporated owns Kent Feeds Incorporated, and Grain Processing Corporation a private corporation owned by the Kent and Stein families. Other feed manufacturing companies under the Varied Investments umbrella are Blue Seal Feeds Incorporated (Londonderry, New Hampshire), and Evergreen Mills (Ada, Oklahoma), a division of Kent Feeds. The three affiliated feed companies operate twenty-four feed manufacturing plants and market feed in more than thirty states.
