IGCC Demonstration Project's Feasibility Report Unanimously Approved

The 200-megawatt (MW) Taiyangzhou IGCC project, one of three IGCC demonstration projects planned during China's 11th five-year plan (2006-10), and the first national IGCC demonstration project invested by a local power enterprise, will have four 200-MW generating units and become one of the world's largest IGCC power projects in terms of installed capacity

Dongguan, as the manufacture center in southern China, is a city with heavy energy consumption. The city is currently suffering from a serious power shortage. Power shortage of the city in peak hours reaches about 1,500 MW.
