Industrialinfo.com has identified over 3,572 capital and maintenance projects along the United States Gulf Coast for the years 1998 through 2002, representing a total investment value of $102 billion in reported spending. These surveys researched by Industrialinfo.com represent major projects in twelve industrial sectors that exceed $1 million in spending with various construction kick-off dates out to 2005. The Gulf Coast region, which includes portions of Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi and Florida is home to the largest concentration of industrial plants in the U.S. and represent more than 2,450 individual plant locations.
The Texas portion of the Gulf Coast Online Plant Directory is home to over 1,070 operational industrial plants, almost half of the total Gulf Coast plant population and nearly $47 billion of the total 5-year spending reported. Not surprisingly Louisiana follows in second place with 648 industrial plants and over $32 billion in spending with Alabama, Mississippi and Florida following respectively.
