Innatech Plastic Plant to End Production Operations, Eliminating 75 Jobs

Researched by Industrial info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Innatech LLC (Rochester, Michigan) has operated in Richmond, Indiana, for about eight years as an injection molder of plastic parts for the automotive industry. Permanent closure of the Richmond facility is expected to occur on August 17, 2010. The shutdown will affect all job classifications and titles, and is estimated to leave 75 unemployed.

The plant had filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy in March, due to the cost of manufacturing and the economic downturn. Engineered Plastic Components, located in Iowa, acquired Innatech facilities in Ohio, Michigan and Indiana, in an auction in May 2010. The work and all equipment will be consolidated to the new owner's existing operations in St Clair, Michigan. Innatech's customers were already familiar with Engineered Plastic Components, and the company was able to put together a bid, covering an existing $7.35 million loan and other costs.
