Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated, Houston, Texas). Keihin Carolina System Technology Incorporated (Tarboro, North Carolina), a division of Keihin Indiana Precision Technology, Incorporated (Greenfield, Indiana), a subsidiary of Keihin (Tokyo, Japan), has just in the last week completed a 26,000 square foot expansion to its existing 100,000 square foot manufacturing facility. The new construction was scheduled for a May completion, but it was completed two months earlier than planned.
Keihin is a Tier I supplier to Honda of America (Raymond, Ohio) and Honda of Canada (Alliston, Ontario). The Tarboro plant, a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility built in 1977 and operational in 1978, provides engine control units and electronically-actuated solenoids for automatic transmissions for Honda and Acura models. The new expansion will require the addition of 40 new employees.
Barnhill Construction (Raleigh, North Carolina) was general contractor for the $10 million expansion project. Keihin received a $25,000 flex grant from the North Carolina Eastern Region to help with the expansion.
