Construction of the project began in early 2008 and was completed this spring. LCRA anticipates full commercial operation of the new facility by mid-July. The project consists of constructing four dual-fueled 45-MW GE Energy LM 6000 SPRINT combustion turbines in a simple cycle peaking configuration. Once operational, the new project will be a welcome addition to help meet peak summer demands for LCRA customers.
