Reported by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Seed-corn producer Monsanto Company (NYSE:MON) (Saint Louis, Missouri) is undergoing a major expansion on its operation in Nebraska. The company is expanding its Kearney facility and is building a warehouse near York. The investment, estimated at $155 million, is expected to create about 55 full-time and several thousand part-time jobs. The company has three other corn-breeding facilities in Nebraska.
Monsanto Company selected Carl A. Nelson & Company (Burlington, Iowa) as the general contractor for both projects. Industrial Info detailed the scope, tentative schedule and key contacts and is monitoring 17 other active Monsanto projects estimated at $288 million in the Food & Beverage, Petroleum Refining, Chemical Processing and Pharmaceutical & Biotech industries.
