Neste Oil's Future Overhaul at Finland's Porvoo Refinery

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Neste Oil Corporation (HEL:NES1V) (Espoo, Finland) has scheduled a planned maintenance turnaround at the 210,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Porvoo Refinery in July 2010. This onshore complex employs about 2,000 people and is located in the Kilpilahti industrial zone, about 20 kilometers west of the city of Porvoo, Finland.

Neste Oil is focused on producing low-emission, high-quality fuels. The company intends to be the world's main supplier of renewable diesel. Neste Oil has two refineries in Finland: Porvoo and the 60,000-BBL/d Naantali refinery.

The shutdown at Porvoo Refinery will take place in June 2010 and is expected to last approximately 30 non-production days. The turnaround will entail mainly routine inspection, cleaning and maintenance and will affect all the processing units. Overhauls at the refinery occur every five years.The refinery's last major turnaround took place in 2005, and the next major event is planned for 2015.
