Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Nestle Waters North America (Greenwich, Connecticut), a subsidiary of Nestle S.A. (OTC: NSRGY) (Vevey, Switzerland) has selected a Design-Build contractor for a new $100 million bottled water plant that will be constructed in Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee.
H+M Company (Jackson, Tennessee) was selected from a short list of four contractors to provide design-build construction services for this project that has been in planning for over a year.
Construction is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2003 on a 400,000 plus square foot building that will provide the company with a regional manufacturing and distribution facility for their PET bottled water products.
Three hi-speed bottling lines will be installed at the facility as well as a PET plastic blow molding bottle line that will enable the company to produce the containers on-site. Administration office space and a sophisticated distribution center will also be included.
Construction activities and plant start-up are scheduled sometime during the first quarter of 2004.
Jay Brunson, Industrialinfo.com's Food & Beverage manager adds, "This is only phase I of the project. Once the plant is up and operational, Nestle plans a phase II of the project that will expand the existing building to one million square feet and the addition of further bottling lines."
Red Boiling Springs is a small community with less than 1000 inhabitants and is located about 58 miles northeast of Nashville in Macon County. The plant will be situated off highway 52 and Old Lake Road on the north side of town.
Formerly Perrier Group of America, Nestle Waters North America is a subsidiary of Swiss based Nestle S.A., which had annual revenues exceeding $1.6 billion last year alone, in the U.S. bottled water market. This represents approximately 30% of the U.S. bottled water market.
Founded in 1957, H+M Company is recognized world wide as an innovative leader in the design, engineering and construction industry. H+M became one of the first companies to offer design-build services to industry.
