Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Privately held Millard Refrigerated Services Incorporated (Omaha, Nebraska) is planning to make its presence known in North Carolina through the addition of a new facility.
Millard purchased an existing 45,000 square foot building that was occupied by another cold storage company Polar Cold Storage in Statesville, North Carolina, and plans to expand the building and infrastructure to make the site an energy efficient facility and increase the total storage space for the company. Statesville is located roughly 40 miles north of Charlotte.
The company, acting as their own general contractor, is currently performing site work and plans to add another 93,000 square feet of space and utilize the facility for freezer storage only. Once completed in April of 2003, the total footprint for the new facility will be 138,000 square feet.
In other Millard news, two other projects are progressing within the company. The 200,000 square foot temperature controlled warehouse being constructed at the new Nestle plant in Jonesboro is scheduled to be completed next month and another 250,000 square foot warehouse came on-line late 2002 in Gaffney, South Carolina to support a Nestle plant near that location.
Millard operates 25 refrigerated warehouse, distribution, and processing facilities throughout the United States. These 192 million cubic feet of capacity are designed to meet the demands of major markets served by national retail, foodservice, and production companies throughout the country.
