The company purchased an existing building in Altura previously owned by Rochester Made and is utilizing WAK Construction Services (Plainview, Minnesota) to perform site and structural renovations before installing processing equipment to produce food ingredients for major consumer food companies.
All major equipment items have been spec'ed and purchased and the processing equipment should arrive on site soon in time for installation. The company is projecting an April 2003 start-up date.
Primera will produce food ingredient products from feedstock's like eggs, rice, tapioca, and soy. Once fully operational, about 45 to 50 positions will be created at the new plant.
Primera Foods provides specialty and innovative food ingredients to almost every segment of the food industry including pasta, baking, ice cream, and confectionery. The company has plant locations and processing facilities in Cameron, Wisconsin; Perham, Hayfield & Faribault Minnesota; and Stockton Illinois.
