The following is an advisory by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Inc.; Houston, Texas). Private Energy Producer (PEP), PSEG Power LLC (Newark, N.J.) hired Duke/Flour Daniel (Aliso Viejo, Cali.) as the turn-key contractor for a $290 million 500 mega-watt (MW) combined-cycle unit addition. Duke/Flour Daniel has just about completed construction with start up and commissioning to begin in January 2002.
The new unit consists of two natural gas/oil-fired General Electric (GE) Frame 7FA combustion turbine/generators, two Foster Wheeler Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG's) and a GE steam turbine/generator. The new unit is scheduled for commercialization by June 01, 2002.
PSEG Power is a subsidiary of Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG) (NYSE: PEG) (Newark, N.J.). PSEG was formed in 1903 as Public Service Corporation and is one of the top 15 electric trading companies in the U.S. PSEG currently has over 11,200MW in operation with another 6,100MW of power in development or under construction. PSEG has annual revenues of approximately $6 billion and employs over 13,000 people.
Duke/Flour Daniel is a joint venture of Duke Energy (NYSE: DUK) (Charlotte, N.C.) and Flour Daniel (NYSE: FLR) (Aliso Viejo, Cali.). Duke/Flour Daniel can perform in all areas of design, engineering, procurement, construction, operation, and maintenance of power plants.
